Beyond the vanity and the pride
Where ego's mask obscures and hides

With no need for cleric's guide
Moving through life, vision wide
A conscience pricked, someone lied

In doctrined ways, the good are tied
Outside the temple a beggar cried
The sick whose lives were cast aside
Listen to wordless thoughts.

In god we trust, from Satan hide
Yet stand and watch the genocide
Mock the words 'spirit guide'
Listen to wordless thoughts.

Those who must in chapel bide
Sport religion with a pride
Here you not the God inside?
